        PREACHING ABOUT POVERTY

The sermons offered in this "month of Sundays" come from preachers representing an extraordinary range of communions.  Because of their varied theological backgrounds and their own unique perspectives, these clergypersons present a rich diversity as they interpret Scripture that touches on spiritual and material poverty.  Noting that these sermons should not be construed as representing National Council of Churches policy, we offer them with the hope that readers will find fresh and stimulating thoughts on poverty as they encounter each sermon.
