        MONDAY, MARCH 25 (Annunciation)
The Bible speaks about poverty:

Luke 1:51-5551 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts. 52 He has brought down the powerful from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 according to the promise he made to our ancestors, to Abraham and to his descendants forever." 56 And Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.

Good works that 'work': 

The bad news is that Pennsylvania has been rated as one of the eight worst states in the nation when it comes to disparity in educational opportunity--and that the problem of inequality in our public schools is widespread across the United States.  The good news is that Good Schools Pennsylvania, a grassroots movement for education reform in that state, offers a unique model to our nation of how we might advocate for funding equity and quality education for all children.
