New materials from Bread for the World prepare congregations to act on poverty issues in 2002. Hunger No More: Decisions 2002 is an easy-to use packet of educational materials for Christian congregations. Evoking the vision of Revelation 7:16: "They shall hunger no more," this resource is published at a time when Congress is preparing to make decisions on nutrition programs that will affect poor people for years to come. The materials include a six-session leader's guide, hunger resources for children, and adult study group handouts that include selected scripture readings, hunger facts, personal stories of real people who have endured hunger, and ideas for connecting our lives with the hunger story and our mandate from the Bible. Hunger No More is a unique cooperative effort 18 Christian organizations, including the National Council of Churches, and was produced in conversation with Islamic and Jewish groups and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. The packet is available from Bread for the World Institute, 50 F Street NW, Suite 500, Washington, D.C. 20001 Phone: 202-639-9400 ext. 223 or 1-800-82-BREAD, ext. 223; E-mail: publications@bread.org; Web: www.bread.org |
