Call for Essay Proposals: Theology and the Environment

Washington, May 2, 2007 The National Council of Churches USA Eco-Justice Program invites submissions for a book of essays to be published by Paulist Press that responds to the Council's Ecumenical Statement on the Environment (http://www.nccecojustice.org/openletter.html ). 

The book of essays, part of a series produced and published by the Faith and Order Commission, will examine ecological theology in the context of the statement.

Essay proposals, due June 4, 2007, should describe the essay topics and include a curriculum vitae from the potential author.  Invitations for final submission will be sent no later than June 11, 2007.  Proposals will be evaluated based on how they address the Ecumenical Statement on the Environment. 

The final manuscript should be completed no later than August 1, 2007.  Completed and previously unpublished essays should not exceed 6,000 words.
