U.S. Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon Honors NCC President Huszagh

February 25, 2003, PORTLAND, Ore. -- Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO) presented National Council of Churches President Elenie K. Huszagh, Esq., with its Ecumenist of Elenie Huszaghthe Year Award during its annual community awards and celebration dinner on Tuesday, February 25, in Portland, Ore. 

The dinner celebrates people and organizations who have made a difference in Oregon.  Mrs. Huszagh, the first Greek Orthodox layperson to serve as NCC president, grew up in Portland and now resides in Nehalem.  Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon is a statewide association of 17 Christian denominations including Protestant, Roman Catholic and Orthodox bodies working together to improve the lives of Oregonians through theological education and dialogue, public policy advocacy and community ministry programs.
