ABOUT RESOURCES FOR THE CIVIC CONVERSATION
Resources for the Civic Conversation is an inter-university and inter-religious program with a community focus that provides
intersections for civic engagement on urgent public questions. Eight universities and seminaries participate in the program
which is sponsored by the National Council of Churches. Resources began a year ago with a focus on health care as an
illustration of both policy complexity and the ethical issues classically posed between private interests and public needs. We
characterize our process as a para-university linking community knowledge with expert and academic resources.
