Ongoing: All Our Children Humanitarian Aid Project

Endorsed by Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter

Co-sponsored by Church World Service, Jubilee Partners, Stop Hunger Now, Mennonite Central Committee, National Council of Churches, Sojourners and others.  "A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more." (Jeremiah 31:15).

"Then [Jesus] took a little child … and taking it in his arms, he said to them, 'Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me…" (Mark 9:36-37).

"You shall be charitable; GOD loves the charitable. " (Koran, Sura 2:195).

All children are our children. They are the common hope and future of the world. During the last 20 years, the children of Iraq have suffered at the hands of both internal and external forces. The Gulf War in 1991 and more than a decade of sanctions have followed on the heels of a protracted Iraqi war with Iran during the 1980s. Estimates of the number of children who have died run from 500,000 to more than one million. It is a crisis of tragic proportions to which compassionate people of faith in the United States must respond.

"All Our Children" is a one million dollar campaign to respond to critical health care needs of Iraqi children. This effort by people in the USA will be a tangible demonstration of our love for children – a love shared by all humanity. This response includes desperately needed items such as antibiotics, anesthesia, IV solution kits, and methods for accessing clean drinking water. It will send a message to the world, particularly the people of the Middle East, that compassion for all our children unites us.  We urge you to share out of our abundance to help save the lives of children in Iraq.  For more information and to send donations, please contact Church World Service, All Our Children, Account #6801, P.O.
