Rev. Dr.
Randall C. Bailey
Dr.
Randall C. Bailey is the Andrew W. Mellon
Professor of Hebrew Bible at Interdenominational Theological Center in
Atlanta, GA. Prior to
coming to ITC he taught at Atlanta University
School of Social Work. He is an ordained Baptist
minister and holds his membership at Ebenezer
Baptist Church in Atlanta.
Dr. Bailey has
represented Progressive National
Baptist Convention and American Baptist Churches
on the USA on several Program Ministries and the Executive Board of National
Council of Churches,
where he currently chairs the Bible Translation and Utilization Committee.
He is the author and
editor of several books and articles, He concentrates on the relationship
of Ancient Africa and the Hebrew Bible and specializes in ideological
criticism, especially as regards the points of intersection of
race/ethnicity, gender, class, sex, sexual orientation and power in the
biblical text.
