Reflections by Regional Councils of Churches ╬ Reflections by Regional Councils of Churches on The Authority of the Church in the World
After studying the topic "The Authority of the Church in the World" for two quadrennia, the Faith * Order study group assigned to this subject wrote a convergence document in 2008. The group reported their summary of the various Christian understandings of "authority," both cohesively synthesizing when possible and noting diversities in belief as well. The document concluded by bringing together ideas of how the churches can more effectively witness to Christ in the world today. Some regional councils have reflected on "The Authority of the Church in the World" and issued formal responses grounded in their particular regional context.
