More Ways to Give
There are several other options to consider:
- Planned giving
You may wish
to leave a lasting legacy of support
for ecumenical work by naming the National
Council of Churches of Christ in the USA as a
beneficiary in your will or living trust.You may also name
the NCC as a
beneficiary of your life insurance policy or IRA.
- Gifts of Securities
A gift of
appreciated securities held for more than
one year is one of the most economical ways to
give. You will receive a tax deduction for the
market value of the securities and will not have to
recognize the appreciation as capital gain.
- Named Funds
Many donors
seek to honor a loved one, cause or
program of the National Council by setting up an
endowed fund that will benefit the Council in
perpetuity. Such funds can be set up for any
amount above $1,000. Only the board-determined
income is used each year, while additional growth
increases the fund to help more in following years.
- Charitable Gift Annuities and Deferred Gift Annuities
These options provide income to you for life, and then become a gift to the National Council of Churches. The deferred option allows you to make a gift now that begins to provide income to you at a later date.
- Donor Advised funds
This option offers a current
gift and tax deduction and the ability to choose other charities at a later date.
